Forth and Clyde Canal Corridor
In 2016, Scottish Waterways Trust were awarded £300,000 for improvements to the Forth and Clyde Canal between the Kelpies and the Falkirk Wheel. The grant went towards upgrades to the towpath, signage, interpretation and lighting. The funds were donated to the SLCF by Avondale Environmental Limited, part of the NPL Group. In 2012 and 2016, Avondale’s contributions to the SLCF facilitated further grants of £200,000 and £85,000 for improvement works to the Union Canal towpath at Polmont and at the Falkirk Tunnel respectively.
