Helix Park
Between 2011 and 2016 grants totalling £1.17 million were awarded to Falkirk Council, Scottish Waterways Trust, Falkirk Community Trust and Scottish Canals towards the construction of the Helix Park in Falkirk. Funds were spent on the creation of the Helix Lagoon, and access improvements throughout the site. Additional grants were awarded to the Helix Park Adventure Zone and the Helix Spiral. All funds were donated to the SLCF by Avondale Environmental Limited, part of the NPL Group.
Kelpies Visitor Centre
In 2015, Scottish Canals was awarded £500,000 towards the construction of the new Kelpies Visitor Centre. The centre is opposite the Kelpies on the Forth and Clyde Canal and includes a café offering a great view of the structures. The funds were donated to the SLCF by Avondale Environmental Limited, part of the NPL Group.
